Alessandra Vitelli is a Naples-based illustrator born in 1979, whose work focuses on the children’s market. She has illustrated for commercials, picture books, and education books and magazines from Italy and abroad. She loves that her drawings become part of a bigger design with its own composition and balance. Alessandra is inspired by many things including her children, her kittens, dreams, and new colors she sees around the world. In addition to illustration, she is passionate about photography and typography. Alessandra works in traditional and digital art and really loves experimenting and mixing media. She always likes to face new challenges and find the best interpretation of a text. She really loves gouache, acrylics, and colored pencils. Alessandra has also been working as an illustration teacher at the Italian School of Comix in Naples since 2013. In 2016 she was selected in Illustrator 58 Annual of the Society of Illustrators of New York and in the 2018 Illustrator Annual of the AOI. She currently lives in Naples with her partner, two children, and two cats. She loves her large, cheerful, sometimes noisy family. When not working Alessandra enjoys traveling, reading, and watching movies and TV series.
